Meet China's middle class
...in the 1990's my income was less than $320 a month. Now it is close to $2,300. My wife and I are both senior middle school teachers, and our family's total income (after tax) in 2011 was about $54,000.

I entered my 40's in 2002. I was at a middle-level position in a hospital, my income was only around $300 a month. Ten years later, the hospital has been growing rapidly. Although my position hasn't changed much, my income has gone up to over $3,000 a month.
